Kelley Hensing
Kelley's artwork is inspired by the mysterious. She grew up in a house by the woods, spending much of her time going on adventures into the wilderness. Her images portray dreams, fears and fables, while seeking to transcend a world of chaos. Her visual language combines nature, spirituality and archetypal figures to form her own narratives both beautiful and symoblic.
Kelley earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, and her MFA in 2010 from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Her first major show was in 2014 with Last Rites Gallery, NYC. She also participates in group shows with Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, OK, the online gallery Every Day Original, and at various museums and group shows around the country. When not working in her studio, she stays busy traveling with her own art booth to numerous art fairs and themed conventions throughout the year. Besides paintings and drawings, her favorite recent project was creating 10 interior illustrations for the limited edition of "Edgar Allan Poe: Poetry and Tales" published by Suntup Editions.
