Description
Inspired by a scene in The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. When the Red Bull first finds the Unicorn, Schmedrick the Magician transforms the Unicorn into Lady Amathea. Her first moments as a mortal are terrifying and humbling. Molly mourns for the actions taken by Schmendrick and their repercussions, as Schmendrick is simply delighted a spell worked.I wanted to encapsulate all of their emotions in that scene in one painting, and I hope this does the literature justice. I took about 3 years to keep tweaking this painting on and off to feel like I captured all that I had hoped to. :)
