Description

This is a hand-cranked automata sculpture piece.
Inspired by Smaug from The Hobbit by Tolkien, a dragon flies high over a small village and castle, looking for gold and prey. The dragon flies over the land ... all you need to do is turn the handle!
The dragon is created from clay, cloth and card, the wings painted with tiny scales.
The base is a metal canister and mdx base which hides the mechanism. Around this a landscape has been created from clay and cloth. Miniature houses, church, castle and keeps have been carved from wood and card, each one carefully hand painted. A river and waterfall also flow through the landscape.
