Every evening, the smallest of the Rockland Trolls arrive in the Library to light the lanterns. Each carries a cut length of fresh sapling from the garden’s weeds, and using this they give each of the hanging crystals a solid WHACK, which activates the glowing bits. It’s really a charming little ceremony of sorts.
