Steven Bahruth was born in Long Island N.Y. and grew up around the upstate area. Working in primarily charcoal and graphite, Steven, a completely self taught artist,often works in mixed media to experiment with textures and effects. Stevens artistic vision would be described as dark in theme and often allegorical. More often than not there is no preconceived plan to the work, letting the creative process flow to form a subconscious meaning. He continues to Focus on inviting the viewer into that same dark subconscious corner of his mind. His influences tend to revolve around esoteric, mythology, and folklore. Steven is just now beginning his path into the world of fine art and works diligently to expand his work into other mediums to create new visions of the dark.
