The story of Persephone is one of trauma and adversity, as she was abducted and forced to live part of the year with Hades. Yet, she is also able to live free in the world at least part of the time, escaping her fate, creating growth and abundance out of her experience. I think the story of Persephone is a beautiful depiction of overcoming, or attempting to overcome terrible trauma, continuing to live with the scars and make a life meaningful.
