Description
A lunar/solar disk is held up to the red moon of a lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse, a mountain temple, a sacred night...The floor design is a replica of the Nebra Sky disk which is a 3500 year old bronze disk found in Germany. On it are represented phases of the moon, the sun, the Pleiades, stars and an indication of the solstices. It is the oldest known depiction of the cosmos found. In my painting it represents our connection with the sun, moon, cycles of nature as well as with our ancestors.
