Description
At the siege of Barad-dûr men and elves formed the Last Alliance to confront the evil of the Dark Lord. In the battle, Elendil, the High King of Arnor and Gondor was killed by the Dark Lord Suaron. Elendil's son, Isildur, confronted Suaron, and cut the the One Ring from his finger. Suaron's armies were defeated, and the fortress of Barad-dûr was destroyed. This of course was not the end of the story. In my painting, Sauron has left his fortress and climbed the slopes of Mount Doom to confront the enemy.
