Skeen’s Return, by Jo Clayton for DAW Books, is about a space thief and collector of ancient technology and jewels. My design was to make the cover look like a cloisonne box, showing on top the adventures she goes on, and below the face of the heroine and some of the jewelry and old technology she seeks – in this case different kinds of our modern-day locks.
