Oils, graphite, ink, silver ink on board, 4/98, 20 x 29 inches, signed lower left. The third book in the Crown of Stars Series by Kate Elliot. The author and I were friends in the Society for Creative Anachronism, so it was great to have the opportunity to do the covers of her books. She sent me a description of the bow Liath uses, and for once I get to do a woman of color. I bought a magazine and found this amazing model with great hair. The tunic she’s wearing was one I made myself for my days in the SCA. I posed for Liath, as I do for a lot of my paintings. My hands (and just my hands) are everywhere.
