Acrylics, pastels on board, 8/94, 26 x 30 inches, signed middle right. This is the middle novel in The Gryphon trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon. The gryphon Skandranon flies quickly to the rescue when the Black Kings’ representatives threaten his best friend Amberdrake. I’m pretty sure my visit to Barcelona gave its look to the city of the Black Kings. This is the largest painting I have ever done. This painting was also set into a fancy gryphon frame I designed, with Skandranon on the front and the Black Kings on the back of the book cover.
